This week we focus a little extra on the girls and call for more registrations from the girls teams!

Within the Stockholm Football Cup, we strive for an even distribution between girls and boys teams Now we would like to see the number of registrations from girls teams increase! Therefore, we will focus a little extra on the girls this week, partly to boost and inspire all the football girls out there, but also to call for more registrations from the girls teams.

If you represent a girls team and your team has not yet decided which summer cup to go to, then you are warmly welcome to register to SFC. Not only will you have a fantastic cup experience this summer, you are also involved and representatives of a big international cup that highlights girls and strives for an even distribution of teams!

If you instead represent a boys team, we encourage you to talk to your club's girls' teams to go to the cup together. We can guarantee that it will enhance the cup experience, as well as strengthen both the teams' and the club's community in the future!

We are many people in the cup organization who work to ensure that you have a fantastic cup summer 2022. Here are some of us girls who represent SFC:

Moa Wettby, manager of the referee organization

Moa is a role model in her involvement as a football referee and referees football on the highest level in Sweden. In 2019, she was awarded the prize "young referee of the year" by the Swedish Football association, and was then predicted to become a leader in Swedish football. We can do nothing but agree, therefore we chose to give her the leadership position of our referee organization for 2022.

How did your interest in football begin?
I started playing football early and had parents who were committed as football leaders. They made me involved in football and since then I have always thought the sport was fun. I have tried a lot of positions within football and lately I've got very passionated for the role as refeere.

Should you send a message to us on Instagram, it is highly likely that it is Linn who answers you.

How did your interest in football begin?
My interest in football began as a four-year-old in the small club FC Näckan in northern Stockholm. The reason I started so early was probably influenced by the fact that my older brother played and that my mother has a background as a football player. Football became an obvious choice for me and was absolutely the only thing I wanted to practice.

Why do you want to be part of SFC and arranging an international football cup in Stockholm?
I am passionate about everything that football provides, both on the pitch but specifically everything around it. So when I got the chance of working with SFC and be part of the feelings, experiences and memories you get from participating in a cup I absolutely can not miss being a part of that.

Do you have a role model in football?
When I was a younger football girl, I looked up to Caroline Seger, but today I probably see all the women in the football movement as my role models.

Is there anything special you are looking forward to during the cup this summer?
To finally get to meet(!) and create incredible cup memories together. I long until we are at Enskede IP or Eriksdalsskolan and can welcome the first teams. That feeling of nervousness and anticipation is unbeatable.

Linnea has worked with events before, but never with youth football - something she only sees as a fun challenge!

Petra Knutås, Manager of Marketing and Officials

After a 'short' break of about 10 years, Petra started playing football again in 2018. That's when she got in contact with Jonas Dyrke (Cup manager) who told her about SFC and got really excited about the thought of a football cup in Stockholm. She has been part of the organization since then as the head of marketing and cup officials, a postition she will continue to have in 2022.

My father is an old football player and a football fanatic, his great passion and interest in football spread to both me and my brother. I started playing as a 6-year-old in Enskede IK and have many fond memories of football that I carry with me.

Why do you want to be part of SFC and arranging an international football cup in Stockholm?
I would say that a football cup is the sport concentrated in its best experiences - the excitment, joy, togetherness and adventure. My own experiences from cups are close to my heart and the idea of being able to create this for other young people around the world in my own hometown is a dream for me.
